PDRB votes, with stipulations, to recommend Freezer plan

Citrus County’s Planning and Development Review Board voted 5-2 on Thursday to recommend approval for a Comprehensive Plan amendment and development plan from Bruce McLaughlin for John and Joanne Lawson for the Cedar Key Fish House and Freezer Bar at 5590 S. Boulevard Drive in Homosassa.

The final decision would rest with the county commission. The PDRB’s recommendation will go to the county commission for consideration at a future meeting.

The Freezer owners and the county have been in contention over zoning and code violation issues regarding the businesses, and have sued each other.

The county staff had recommended approval with 18 stipulations, including hooking up to the county water a sewer line, putting in drainage, installing a fence between the business and the residential property next door and reducing the number of boat slips from 29 to 20.
