Illness shutters county animal shelter

Animal Shelter temporarily closed by illnessCitrus County Animal Services has temporarily closed the shelter, until further notice, due to an unknown severe upper respiratory illness.

The shelter medical staff and administration have been working directly with veterinarians from the University of Florida Maddie’s Shelter Medicine Program, who are experts in the field of treatment and management of illnesses in shelters.

County wants WRWSA agreement modified or scrapped

Withlacooche Regional Water Supply AuthorityThe consensus of Citrus County Commissioners at their regular meeting today was that they want a better agreement with the Withlacoochee Regional Water Supply Authority (WRWSA), even if that meant the authority must be dissolved.

Led by County Commissioner Jeff Kinnard, commissioners questioned if there was even a need to sell Citrus County water to the jurisdictions under the auspices of other members of the WRWSA.
